Annual audit of the activities of Olíudreifing

BSI auditor carried out an annual audit of Olíudreifing for the quality standard ISO 9001, the environmental standard ISO 14001 and the safety standard OHSAS 18001, and as most of us know a certification process was carried out for Olíudreifing regarding the introduction of these standards. The results of this audit were eagerly anticipated, for even if the introduction of the standards proceeded successfully it does not necessarily follow that operations will be adequately conducted in accordance with them. 

To make a long story short, the audit yielded good results as only three notes were made in the report, which cannot be considered severe as the audit took place at a time when all facilities were in full operation, and this gives us a good indication that we are satisfactorily working in accordance with the obligatory safety requirements and work procedures.

Much work has been devoted to establishing and maintaining the work procedures required according to the standards, and it must also be kept in mind that their purpose is not least to prevent accidents and adverse incidents from occurring, and thereby protect the health of employees and defend the environment against human intrusion. This autumn, audits will continue to be made when certain selected locations in rural areas will be visited.
